"Especially glaring is an error, widely publicized, that Hannah, wife of both John Smithwick and Farnifold Green, was a daughter of Lawrence Gonsalvo, when actually she was Hannah Kent, a daughter of Thomas and Ann. (see Virkus, VII-641)
(page 1382) Hannah Kent married 1st John Smithwick.John died 1696, testate (Grimes 349) and named wife hanna and daughter Sarah.Hannah Kent Smithwick married 2nd c1697 to farnifold Green, who is said to be killed by Tuscarora Indians in 1711.He left a will....named wife hannah, children: Thomas, John, Farnifold, James, Elizabeth and Jane Green; also....step-daughter Ann Smithwick.
Sarah Kent (Hannah's sister) married 1st Lawrence Gonsalvo (sometimes spelled Consalvo, Gonzales, etc.) He died Dec 27, 1687.Sarah was his second wife.He had a son Lawrence, Jr. by his first wife.Sarah and Lawrence had a son Thomas.Sarah Kent Gonsalvo married 2nd on June 1, 1689 to John Johnson. John left a will dated 1693 (Grimes 188) in which he named wife Sarah and...step-son Lawrence Gonsalvo.Sarah Kent Gonsalvo Johnson married 3rd on Jan 6, 1697/8 to William Long.Sarah was married 3 times but apparently had no surviving children.She died May 3, 1718 (Perquimans County Births, Deaths, Marriages, Brands & Flesh Marks, Archives, File No. 77.001.1 p. 388)
