William Kent - Schoolmaster

One of my great grandfathers, George Kent Woodcock was born to an unmarried mother, Jane Woodcock in Huntingdonshire, England in 1819. It looks like Jane married a William Smith a couple of years later and George recorded himself in the censuses as George Smith. However when he married [twice] and when he recorded his daughters birth he used the Woodcock name. On the occasion of his first marriage at West Walton, Norfolk in 1845, he gave his father's name as William Kent, occupation Schoolmaster.
Does this name connect with anybody?
John Gourlay
