Transcribed by Michelle Kent Roy (Descendant of Silas Kent born New Jersey about 1780) from New Jersey State Archives in Trenton, NJ. – michelle@gavinroy.com

While investigating my own line, I came across a Charles Kent in the Revolutionary War Soldier microfiche and am offering the following information.

(Screen No. 1)

Kent, Charles
Ref. MSS. Number 4142 (Manuscript Reference on microfiche at NJ Archives)
The following is a list of Prisoners on board the vessels “Torbay” and “Pack Horse” whose property was confiscated after their being taken prisoners and held as hostage:
Name, Charles Kent; On board the “Torbey.”

Also, I’m not sure if the following Charles Kent is the same as the above, but in the “Genealogical Abstracts Of Revolutionary War Pension Files, Volume II: F – M” by Virgil D. White (on reference at the NJ State Library), I found the following:

Kent, Charles, S13618, CT Line, sol lived at Suffield in Hartford Co CT at enl, appl 19 Sep 1832 Cayuga Co NY aged 68.
