I have a book called the Genealogical Abstracts from the 18th Century Virginia Newspapers by Robert K. Headley, Jr.
published by the Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc.Copyright in 1987 The company is listed in Baltimore,Maryland and is a second printing.

International Standard Book No. 0-8063-1199-1
Ok, In this book on page 193 it says:
James Kent, mulatto, c.40, ran away from John Snyder and John Thompson, Hampshire Co. (WG27 Nov. 77)Which means it came from the Nov.27, 1777 Winchester Gazette.
The next Kent listed is:
Jack Kent on page 193.
Jack Kent, Negro(mulatto) acc. to HNPA( that is the Herald and Norfolk Portsmoth Adveriser dated Oct.8, 1795) man-slave , 30-40 plays the fiddle well, ran away from Cornelius Calvert Sr., Norfolk (HNPA 8 Oct 95, NH2 Jan 96)NH is Norfolk Herald.
