Updated information:
I have confirmation that Rev. James Patrick KENNY married Alexvina GILMOUR in 1826 in St. Marylebone parish (Holy Trinity Church, I believe) in London.Their children include:
- James E. Kenny (abt. 1827-aft. 18989) - an Episcopal priest in New York City, married to Mary L., children include son Maurice?, daughters Eva and Edith; buried in Hillside Cemetery, Staten Island, NY
- Charlotte Greenlaw Kenny (abt. 1828-1898) - married Henry Acaster Bateman before migrating to upstate NY; lived most of her adult life and buried in Glens Falls, NY
- Joseph Kenny (1829-1844) buried in Glens Falls, NY
- Alexander J. Kenny (1833-1864); died as Lieut. Col. in Union army, serving Indiana; do not believe he married
- Charles A. Kenney (abt. 1841-aft. 1907); connected to this family but not positive he's their child; served in Union army for NY, lived later in Lansingburgh, Rensselaer Co., NY
- George Kenny - no additional information
- John Kenny - no additional information
Alexvina's obituary indicates she was of Scottish descent, but she was born in England.Family stories said that James Patrick Kenny was a protestant Irishman with flaminig red hair, but he was likewise born in England, based on his children's later census records. The family migrated via Canada, I believe.
Would love to hear from anyone with possible connections to these Kennys - in England, Indiana or New York - or wherever!
