As you noted, Mariah Kennerly was married first to Mr. Borum, then to John Murphy Bennett in 1844.JMB was also married earlier, and a son by that earlier marriage was HK (Hutchinson King)Bennett who died in 1847.He was survived by his wife Clarisa Keaton and a son, John King Bennett (my great grandfather), who is buried in the Bennett family plot in Decherd, TN.Do you know possibly who JMB's first wife was? Also, I have pictures of the Featherstone family cemetery in Decherd (behind the post office on main Street), which I visited a couple years ago.The Bennetts and the Featherstones became realtedfurther down the line when on September 25, 1873John King Bennett married the widow, Mrs. Luvinia Parks who as Luvinia Featherstone, daughter of Richard W. and Tranquilla, married Perry H. Parks on July 7, 1857.She has two children with Mr. Bennett (my grandfather Charles King Bennett and Aunt Lou who lived in Atlanta in her later years). and died in 1877. John K married again and no one know when Luvinia is buried...and the Featherstones were not aware of the Bennett connection, as the marriage certificate is listed as Mrs. Parks. The library in Winchester, TN, near Decherd has a lot of information on the early settlers of the area, and the librarian was very helpful. Put me in touch with Polly Feathersone Mayberry who showed me the Featherstone cemetery, Thanks.
