The motto is "Man above Post"
Post is old irish for a slave or serf.So the motto refers to the nobility and landowning condition of the family.
There is an alternative coat of arms which I believe to be more accurate.It is a rampant Lion on a shield.There is a bent arm holding a sword aloft on top of the shield.Here is a partial view.

My great uncle, Martin Kennelly, was the mayor of chicago in 1948 and I have a pair of cufflinks which were a gift to him from the city. It has a reproduction of the Kennelly coat of arms in gold, diamonds and silver.Pretty cool.
