Hi Jim & other Kennelly/Kennelley/Kenneally Kin, Concerning the Kennelly family, you mention a John Kennelly & Nora Scanlon who m. in the early 1800's and other family members. I wonder if any of your Kennelly's were related to my Daniel Kennelly b.Dec. 24, 1775, Co. Clare ; later Co. Cork (so stated in his Naturalization Papers) and then he came to the Colonies, (perhaps MD PA or VA.) when he was a lad of 9 or 12 years old. He was m. 1803, in Hagerstown, MD. to Jane, daughter of John Shannon, b. 1755, & served in the Amican Revolutionary War. The families settled in Mercersburg, Franklin Co. Pa. & then Centre Co. Pa. Then, there's a John Kennelly, b. 1768, Ireland came to the Colonies & was mustered in at NY City at 9 yrs old; and mustered out at 15 yrs old, in the Am. Rev. He was m.twice Sarah___Mindwell__He may've been a brother to Daniel.I have some DAR info on his family. Next; Have you found and/or checked out: A John & Ellen Kennelly with 4 children from Ireland; who came over with the "Peter Robison Settlement" in 1823-25 into Canada & settled in a place called Keene near Rice Lake, & the city called Peterbourough, Ontario, Ca. There were 9 Ship-loads with 2,024 people that came & settle in that area. I have the book that list's the names of those that came over. I'd love to hear from any one connected to the Kennelly families. Contact me at Irishlovey@aol.com. I'm interested as that is my maiden name, and Daniel Kennelly is my g.g.g. grandfather. Hope springs eternal....(doesn't it!!) Dorothy (Kennelley) Cote Notify Administrator about this message?
