James Kennedy b. SC 1787/d. MO 1877
Looking for the parentage and ancestral background of James Kennedy, my great-great-grandfather, who appears to have been born in South Carolina in 1787. The first wife of said James was Mary (McClesky/McClusky) Kennedy of Livingston County, Kentucky (marriage bond dated 15 February 1809/bondsman: James H. McClusky/bond signed by James Kennedy and James H. McClusky). To this marriage were born several children including Marilla Kennedy, my great-great-grandmother, who later married Peter Franklin Dellinger of Wright County, Missouri. The second wife of said James was Lucinda (Harris) (Eagle) Kennedy. The 1850 Locust Bayou, Ouachita County, Arkansas Federal Census clearly shows said James and his family of the time. By 1860, said James and his family of the time are found living in Barry County, Missouri.
My main purpose in writing this post is to solicit assistance from any of you out there who can help me establish the parentage and ancestral background of said James Kennedy, my great-great-grandfather, who appears to have been born in South Carolina in 1787. Your assistance will be profusely appreciated. Please reply to GenForum. Thank you.
