Dear Denise, my family and the Kennedys of bawnreigh[you spell it bawnreagh]lived less than a half mile apart,it is said that the kennedy came to our farm from wexford and then spread out around the area, I am almost sure we were related to the kennedys of bawnreigh but we would be distant relations,, my father was Thomas Kennedy and my mother was Costello all from this area.Tullahought was the parishs original name,I assume that mary Walsh was also from bawnreigh, the walsh family lived less than a hundred yards from the kennedys of bawnreigh,I remember having tea in the Walsh house with my mother and a Catty Walsh ,she had 2 sisters and a brother Tom also known as the gouge a well known wit in the area, lots of story about him still circulate locally..I think the local publican John Delaney may have some photos of him, there was a photo exhibition in Tullahought old school ,possibly some photo of the family could have been at that exhibition also. I occasionally meet Mary Egan from there [maiden name Quinn ] she could possibly have some imformation..I dont remember that my family and the Kennedy of bawnreigh had any contact as such and we didnt refer to them as cousins ,so obviously we were very distant relations, but I do recall as I said my Mother saying that we were related to Jimmy Quinn,I am nearly sure we are talking about the same family,,there is another bawnreigh a mile away but I dont think any kennedys lived there, did you mention where the cahill lady was from,,The other names kickham are also familar to me ,Sean Power who lives in knockroe, his mother was May Kickham and Kickhams had a shop in castlejohn,I understand the last " kennedy boys[bawnreigh] didnt marry but I think their sister married Quinn,Am I getting it wrong is your maiden name Kennedy, and is the Quinn connection that I mention a coincidence or does it go back a generation and did Jimmy Quinns connection to the kennedys go back a further generation,,all the imformation I have is from memory only,,,I will look up the Griffith valuations for tullahough ,its circa 1850 and that will give the landowners for bawnreigh etc,,,I am rambling, where did your original imformation come from,,,Bye Hugh
