James Kennedy born abt 1743

I am trying to find the father of my great great great grandfather Donald Kennedy, born abt 1778, who worked and married in Portree, Skye, Scotland. He was a ship builder. His children were James, Alexander, Jean, John, Caherine, Isabel, Ann, Janet, Donald, Mary, Anne, and Donald Duncan. According to Scottish naming conventions, Donald's father may have been James. Donald had to have learned his trade of ship building somewhere. So, not going too far from Skye, I discovered a James Kennedy born 1743 in Inverness where there was an active boat building industry. This James married Mary Fraser. Their children were William, Margaret, Donald, Katherine, James, and Andrew. I am wondering if the Donald here is my great great great grandfather. If so, then this might be the correct James Kennedy.
