One of my brick walls is my GGreat Grandmother Rebbecca (Rebekkah) Kennedy (Canady?), born Georgia ca.1795. Died February 1880 Charlton County, Georgia. Married Samuel Chancy/Chancey August 04, 1816 Tattnall County Georgia. Samuel had just recently come to Tattnall from McIntosh County we think. Samuel had not been in Georgia very long, possibly 10 years? +/-. Partly due to the non existence of a Georgia 1790, 1800 and 1810 census, it is difficult to track these surnames. Any possibilities..any of you Kennedy researchers, who have an idea...of who her parents MAY have been, I would certainly appreciate the feedback. (Anything at all may be the clincher)! Of course, it is always possible she was born in SC, and came to Georgia soon after. Samuels first son was George R.W. Chancy/Chancey. I have found several examples of them naming children along the lines of old naming patterns...so...G.R.W. could possibly include the name of Samuel's Father in Law. http://www.geocities.com/bovon/patterns.htm Thanks much, Robert Notify Administrator about this message?
