The Joseph D. Kendall in Rock Creek Twp, Carroll Co., IN on the 1850 census is not the son of George and Lucinda Buskirk Kendall, but is undoubtedly the son of one of George's brothers. George's mother was Mary Drybread and his father was Thomas Kendall (Kindle). Thomas died most likely in Jackson Co., IN where the family resided before going to Carroll Co. about 1835/6. They were in Hamilton Co., OH sometime between 1804 and 1810. Thomas Kindle and Mary Drybread were married in Harrison Co., KY I believe in 1796 It is unlikely Henry is the father of Joseph D. because he only has 2 daughters on the 1840 census and Lydia has 3 born before 1840 (on the 1850 census) The James in Carroll Co. is a likely candidate. He has 5 daughters on the 1840 census and 4 sons. A James Kindle married a Lydia Hodgins Jan 25 1827 in Washington Co., IN which borders Jackson Co., where Thomas Kendall and Mary Drybread had lived. The Drybread middle name has to have a connection to Thomas and Mary. I am a descendant of Thomas and Mary's daughter Mary who married James Sterrett Williamson in Carroll Co., IN. One other thing, The John Marshall family censused after Lydia and her children on the 1850 census in Carroll Co., IN is the son-in-law of George and Lucinda Buskirk Kendall. Hope this helps some.
