I did a Google Search of "Peyton Kendall" and up came some discussion on him in the Kendall-L Archives. One part of the discussion is about a death certificate for him showing he died in Concord, Ross County, OH (your info notes Ross Co OH). The discussion states his father was Jacob Kendall b. VA and mother was Elizabeth Newman b. VA. A Mickey (email: mickeyt@comcast.net) offers copy of the death certificate for those interested. Previous data I collected on Jacob Kendall & Elizabeth Newman shows Jacob's father was Reuben Kendall b.abt 1780 VA wife not known; source info: "Email: (fwd fm Terry Bodkin): From: Ann Davis <AnnDavis@zoomnet.net> 10/8/00 " Hi! I have been browsing at your website and enjoying it very much. I have been looking for my Kendall ancestors forever and don't see a connection but am wondering if you have ever heard of a Reuben or Jacob in your searches. Jacob was born, according to the census, in Virginia around 1800. I have no idea what part of Va. Jacob and Elizabeth Newman were the parents of Payton who was my great grandfather. This family lived in Highland Co, Ohio in the 1800's. On an old envelope I found the note that Reuben was the father of Jacob. I have no idea whether this was someone's research hunch or whether it was a fact. Jacob is in a census of Highland with wife named Margaret, but Peyton's death cert says his mother was Elizabeth Newman. HELP!!!! Thanks in advance either way. Sincerely, Ann Kendall Davis, Ross Co, OH"
