Sarah (Sallie) Smith Kendall (c. 1786-1847)
I am looking for the mother of Sallie Smith. Sallie's father was John Smith. Sallie married Reuben Kendall (confirmed) and in 1810, Reuben and Sallie were living next door to John Smith, over 45 (John's wife was also over 45, and he had two sons under 16, one son 16-25, one daughter under 16, two daughters 16-18, and one daughter 26-44).
Since there was no census for 1820, I had to look at 1830. Reuben and Sallie are now living next door to John T. Smith, 20-30, apparent son of the original John, and brother to Sallie. No sons, and unfortunately, did not copy the female side.
Other names closely associated with this family in addition to Kendall were Crump, Easley, Randall, and surely others, maybe the Lees.
I am wondering if this Smith family rings any bells with anyone. I am looking for John's wife (Sallie's mother). They lived on the western side of the Pee Dee in the southern part of the county near the Rocky River.
Any responses appreciated. Ed Crump, Jr.
