not a problem and can send you all of the research I have.I have been in contact with several other people who are direct descendents of John so I am currenly compilling my information.Unfortunatly I am unable to attach files using my hot mail account so it will have to be by snail mail.Email me on my personal email and give me your address.
All of the Kempsters who emigrated to South Australia came from either Wingrave of Hardwick in buckinghamshire.I believe there were other Kempster who emigrated to Victoria or New South Wales.Unfortunatlly I have not researched that brank. But if I come across any information I'll pass it on.
Kempster seems to be a very unusual names and it is difficult to find out the exact definition or origian of the name.
One book one said the meaning was "Comber of Wool".and I once spoke to a man who said there where sheep called "Kempie".So maybe Kempster were people who work or farmed Kempie sheep.
Also most Kemp sounding names originated in Germany. However Kemp is an english name.I once got the Coat of Arms for Kempster and it is registered as an Scotish name. The gentleman told me however that it does not mean it originated in Scotland, just some rich Lord/Landowner registered it first.
Despite this because It is an uncommon name it would be ideal for a "one name study" because most Kempster seem to come from Buckinghamshire.
Do you have any more information regarding the name.
Thanks
Vicki
