Looking for info on the family of John Henry Kemper, born Oct 1865 in IN. Married Sarah R. or Rebecca. Had a large family (10 children). I'm trying to ascertain if his wife Sarah R. or Rebecca was in fact the maternal niece of my 2g grandfather. I think she was, but I have conflicting info. Here is the following: Sarah Rebecca Kemper died Tiline, Livingston Co, KY, female, white married to Steve Kemper, born Nov 10, 1866, age 67 y 1 m 15d, died Dec 25, 1933 of TB, housekeeper, born Spencer Co, IN, father Zachariah Harris born IN, mother Susan Clems born IN, informant S H Kimper of Tiline, KY burial Groves Chapel Cemetery on Dec 26, 1933. She is buried next to a John Henry Kemper. I have a Sarah Harris, d/o Zachariah Harris & Susanna Clement. This Sarah Harris' parents lived and died in Spencer Co, IN. Susanna Clement was the twin sister of my 2g grandfather Samuel David Clement (see http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=labron00&id=I3129). NOTE: If the link does not work, it's because I'm on a Mac and these forms are not meant for such...just copy & paste the link into your browser and it should work. Census info in 1900, 1910, and 1920 indicate she was married to John Henry Kemper, born Oct 1865 in Indiana (I have no idea who "Steve" Kemper was...either a 2nd marriage after 1920 or a brother/relation of John Henry Kemper or what?). They had 10 children and owned a farm in Livingston Co, KY, in District 2. In the 1900 Census they were in Tolu, Crittenden Co, KY. One set of census info says she was born Nov 1, 1869, which corresponds with my info of being born in 1870. I have another source, normally very trustworthy, that says Sarah Harris, d/o Zachariah and Susan Clement, married a Morton Chandler on May 29, 1892; however, the info on the Sarah Harris who married John Henry Kemper says they were married for 9 years. It was his 2nd marriage and her 1st marriage. I THINK my normally trustworthy source was wrong in this instance, but I am not sure. Anybody who can help resolve this family for me, please let me know on this forum or contact me at jgarner12@kc.rr.com Thank you Jay Garner Notify Administrator about this message?
