I have acquired some information from Alfausen, hoping that it pertains to my great grandfather and his family. My great grandfather was Gerhard Heinrich Schnieder, born July 11, 1844 in Alfausen. My grandparents said that he never spoke of his family or home. I've had someone translating bits and pieces of the church documents that I have and I've noticed that the Kemper name came up several times. One translation says that a Maria Elisabetha Kemper and Johannis Henricus Schnieder on December 20, 1832....???--Godfathers Johann Henric Kruse, Gerhard Heinrich Rathien, Agnes Schulte nee Feldmann.
Does any of this fit into anyone's family? Some of the translations sound as if a baby was born maybe illegitimately, unmarried, widowed---hard to decipher the priests scribbling.
Hoping to hear from someone on this subject.
