Fred:
We may be able to help each other. I'm "chasing" the trail
of a Janet Craig Brien ("Craig" seems to have been a name adopted by her because she was raised by a Craig family in Lanark County, Ont.),daughter of Edward O'Brien and Martha Dunn. She married a William Andrew Kemp, according to her death certificate; and died at Nanaimo in 1960, aged 95. A descendant of one of her sisters in Lanark County showed me photos of W.A. Kemp, dressed in the uniform of either a naval or merchant marine officer.
Any chance your "Andrew" was William Andrew Kemp? I'm anxious to find out how, when and where she met and married him - it's a long trek from a disjointed, difficult childhood in the hardscrabble boondocks of northern Larark County to a comfortable home on the West Coast. Also I'm hoping her descendants might have "family stories" about her origins back East. I'd like to get an obituary for her and W.A. Kemp.
You're wlecome to anything I have in the way of data.
So we have a possible fit?
