Saw your posting and wonder if there could be a connetion...Don't know if the following Kemp folks ever lived in Maryland, but they did live for a time in Stark Co., OH.John and Mary would be the right age to be the parents (or possible uncle) of your Nathan.
John and Mary Kemp emmigrated from Virgina to Stark Co., Ohio sometime between 1808 and 1826 and later settled in Richland Co., OH. by 1827. The only daughter I know for sure was Elizabeth Kemp who married Hiran Arnett (of Belmont Co.) in late 1832 in Richland Co.
John and Mary Kemp are the most likely parent candidates for my Judith Kemp who married Silas Marvin of Richland Co. Judith Kemp was born 2 Aug. 1808 in Virginia; She and Silas Marvin were married 14 April 1827 in Richland Co., OH.
I just came on the Stark Co. info and have not located other children or decendants of John and Mary Kemp either in Stark or Richland Co., OH, or if there was other Kemp relation or another Kemp family in the area at that time. I thought I would throw this to you and see if anything looked familiar or likley... The information on the Kemp-Arnett union (including the info on John and Mary Kemp) came from the Hisory of Richland Co., OH. The Kemp-Marvin info comes from my files and records and published Marvin genealogies.
