Thanks, Marilyn! This is the little bit I know about the family: They are in the 1860 Pollock Twp., Lawrence County PA Census, p. 295, dwelling 85: John age 41, Lavina 31, Laura 11, Virginia 9, Geo. W. 7, Josephine 5, Wm. 3, Frank 3 mos. Laura was married to Joseph Falls and Josephine was married to a man named Travers. According to some notes made by my uncle, John Kelty was a carpenter and a lay minister in the Disciples of Christ denomination. His notes also say that Sarah Needham was his great-grandmother (John's or Virginia's mother?), but this can't be right. I have a (wedding?) ring that supposedly belonged to Virginia's mother, but the date is much too early. It is engraved "Sarah Needham, Jan. 16, 1807, age 35." That would make her, whoever she was, born in 1772. There are 4 initials on the outside too, but I can make out only the last two, which are "JK." This Kelty line is the one I know least about, almost. I have Virginia's obit, but it says nothing about her parents, just that she was the widow of Frederick Sheets, and it lists her surviving children. Her children were Lovina, William (my grandfather), Nettie, Addie, Lillian, Richard and George Sheets. Only William and George survivied her. I think most of them died of TB. William married Bertha Ellen Burnette, Nettie married Earl Cook, and George married Grace Wynder; I don't think any of the others, who died in early adulthood, were married. I have one photograph of Virginia Kelty Sheets, who was a fragile-looking little woman. I would greatly appreciate any other information you have on this family. Elaine
