Lost Keltner in Illinois
My great grandparents GEORGE & LUSETTA THAXTON LIESENFELT took in a foster son from the orphanage in White Hall, Greene Co., IL abt 1910.From then on, he was called EVERETT KEITH LIESENFELT but no formal adoption was ever made.Everett apparently was a sickly child and young adult (this from stories from older family members), he died in 1925.
His grave stone is shared with Lousetta, his 'foster mother' and reads Everett Keith LIESENFELT. This young man was born in Illinois, place unknown September 05, 1907.
He died June 24, 1925 in Greene Co.IL and is buried at Jones Cemetery Greene Co.
I ran across a a small newspaper article in my grandmother's things that stated "beloved foster son of Mr. And Mrs. George Liesenfelt died June 24, 1925....also surviving are a biological brother Floyd KELTNER of Roodhouse, Greene Co. IL and a biological sister, Mrs. Willie Lady of Addieville, Illinois."
Do these names appear familiar to anyone?? Would like to know if Everett Keith was his real name (my father is named after him) or if this is the given name that George and wife gave him....and any family connections to this young man.
With thanks... Penny
