G'day Eddie! Thanks for replying to my message!
Sounds as though we are distantly related!
Coincidently ... my husband is John Richard Waddell!
His greatgreatgrandfather was James, who was the brother of Hope Masterton Waddell, the 1st Irish Presbyterian Missionary.Hope was the youngest of 5.to James Waddell and Susanna Hope, the children were Alexander, William, JAMES, Maria and Hope. One of Hopes children Susan Hope Waddell, married Henry W Kelsall,Indian army.
JAMES(greatgreatgrandfather) had a son named Hope Masterton,(greatgrandfather) who had a son named Hope Masterton(grandfather), who had James(father)living in Victoria Australia.
JAMES had 3 children Alex, Elizabeth and Hope(greatgrandfather). They lived in USA until JAMES diedthen Hope went to Australia and Elizabeth went to Manchester. She died in Mnachester in 1920. I have her will and the names on it are Hope and Kelsall. Even Edward Kelsall receiveda brass table and stand. Her executors are Miss Jesssie Moncrief Jameson and William Hope Masterton jameson. Her house was called Overdale.
There is also a list of silverware, which could possibly be the same as you mentioned. I also have a family tree of the Hopes, which is what got me curious as to why it was a hope tree not a waddell tree. I also have a book with the waddells and kelsalls mentioned in it called Full Circle.
1959 was a good year ... thats when I was born too!
Too much to tell in one reply! Email me if you want more info!Regards to your father!
