Looking for Margaret Kelly born around 1800-1803 in Ohio. She married Sylvester Needham born around 1797-1803 in New York. Margaret and Sylvester were married on 25 April 1822 Columbiana Ohio.
I have a Sylvester Needham on the 1830 and 1840 Brooke Virginia Census. The ages of children listed on the match closely to the children listed in 1850.
In 1850 Sylvester 47 New York and Margaret 41 Ohio Needham show up in Gallia County Ohio. Listed as children are James 25 Ohio, Matilda 23 PA (James' wife), Rebecca 18 Ohio, Margaret 16 Virginia, Mattada (Matilda) 15 Virginia, Alford 14 Virginia, Sylvester 9 Virginia, Malinda 8? Virginia, Mary A. 3 Ohio (James and Matilda's daughter and my ggggrandmother) and a Jesse Smith 40 Virginia. Have no idea who Jesse Smith is!
In 1860 Mason Virginia District 2 Sylvests Newsham (rolling eyes)64 New York and Margaret 56 Ohio with children Alford 24 Virginia, Sylvests S 17 Virginia, and Matilda 16 Virginia.
Living next to Sylvests (Sylvester) is his son and wife James and Matilda Meaddram (again, rolling eyes) with children Mary A. 13 Ohio, James 9 Ohio, Elizabeth 8 Ohio, and Richard 4 Ohio.
In 1870 Clendenin Mason West Virginia Sylvester 75 New York and Margaret 67 Ohio Needham were last seen on the census... unless I can't find them because of the spelling of Sylvester's last name.
