Back to the mysterious Harvey Kellogg who married Rebecca - I looked thru census for Iowa all afternoon. I have the index showing the marriage on Aug 24, 1863 but as I have not found her with a Harvey on any census, will assume he died shortly after the marriage. She is listed on the 1870 Charles City, Floyd Co., Iowa with her daughter Francis E age 22 who teaches school. Francis was with her first husband, Daniel Tuttle. Rebecca is then shown as "Kellogg" and is also on the 1880 (same place); 1900 (same place) 1910 same place. Her death record shows her as Rebecca Kellogg, and her obit shows the same, and gives the names of her children. So -- big mystery as to what Kellogg, but perhaps it was a William, Joe, John or whatever with a middle initial of H and he used that middle initial as his name. Whatever -- her marriage record shows a Harvey Kellogg and she lived in that county allmost all of her married life. Any ideas? Thanks
