VENICE, Fla. — Pauline “Polly” Kelley, 94, of Venice, Fla., died Nov. 14, 2007. Mrs. Kelley was a resident of Sandalwood Park in Venice until her admission to the Luke Haven Nursing facility in 2005.
She was born Jan. 3, 1913, in Metamora, Ohio, and spent her early years in Lenawee County and Adrian, Mich. She came to Venice in 1980 from Milford, Mich., where she and her late husband, Max Kelley, owned and operated a hardware and gift store. She was a member of the Venice Presbyterian Church, and a volunteer rocking grandmother at the Early Childhood Nursery. She expressed her joy with the babies saying, “The babies bring much joy to my life.”
She was preceded in death by her husband and her two children, a daughter and a son. Survivors include a sister, Orpha Rogerson of Adrian, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Ila Roback of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a son-in-law, Donald Kampman of Venice, Fla.; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held for Pauline from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at Farley Funeral Home, Venice chapel, 265 S. Nokomis Ave., with the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow the services on Tuesday at Venice Memorial Gardens.
Memorial donations may be made to the Venice Presbyterian Church, 111 Firenze Ave. E, Venice, FL 34285 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
