Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I am researching my own Kellam ancestors, who would have moved from Georgia (via Alabama, I believe) to Rusk County, Texas, in about 1840 or so. I know they were in Salem (no longer existing), Rusk County, in 1849, because the Arkansas Historical Quarterly published a diary kept by my great-great grandfather, Robert Frank Kellam, who had moved on to Camden, Ouachita County, Arkansas, in 1848, outlining a trip he took from Camden back to visit his family in the summer of 1849. The diary makes mention that brother Jack married a Rebecca Wonnell on August 21, 1849.
Any additional information would be greatly appreciated, and I will gladly share what I have found with anyone who would like to do so.
