I am not sure if there is a connection but my line of the Kell Family in Australia has been traced back to a John Kell, farmer, who married Margaret (or Mary) nee McAlister on 14.11.1779 in the Campbeltown Parish. John Kell had at least two - as far as I know - children Joseph and (the younger) Edward Kell. Joseph married Agnes (or Anne or Mary) McQuilkan on 7.2.1804 and their three sons, Donald (2.4.1811-13.12.1875), Edward (13.6.1826-16.2.1889) and Allan (29.7.1828-15.10.1901) immigrated to Australia on 3.12.1837 ('Portland'), between 1848 and 1859, and August 1852 ('Flora McDonald') respectively.

John Kell`s other son and my descendant Edward Kell was born on 12.11.1798 at Southend Scotland and died on 8.4.1867 at Rothesay Scotland. He married Margaret Cowan at Stirling on 18.7.1819. He, Margaret and their family immigrated to Australia from Liverpool on 4.4.1841 on the ship 'England'.

If we share the same line, I`d be interested in information on John Kell`s ancestors.

Hope this helps.
