Unfortunately, this story seems to muddy the water farther about whether or not Matthis was the father of the Michael Kelchner who married Maria Eva Frey:
Michael's DoB would have had to have been bef 1743 for him to have been taxable (at 16) for the first time in 1759 but not too much earlier than that IF his father was Matthias and IF Matthias was under 21 when he accompanied one of his brothers to America in 1731 or 1733.
Michael's parents would have had to have married and given birth to him before 1743. BUT his supposed mother’s tombstone said that Maria Eva Freymarried Michael in 1752, making it impossible for their son to have been old enough to tax in 1759.
