Hi there!
I am descended from the Keith family that moved from Franklin, Tennessee to Jack, Texas in the mid-19th century(GGG-GF James Porter/GG-GF John Ross/G-GF William Jones/GM Cliftene Jo). I am trying to figure out when/why my branch changed the spelling to Kieth from Keith. From what I can tell, this seemed to have happened after moving to Texas but I am not sure (it seems to appear with John Ross).
Any help would be great!
