Interesting!
Which Keith Clan are we talking about?
.
In “Gulf Coast” Beaumont, where I grew up, Olga Keith married Harry Caruthers Weiss, founder of Humble Oil (ExxonMobil) and was an early supporter of Rice “College”. In Central Texas where we live now, Keith related farmers still own huge portions of land. My mother’s Keith line runs deep and using a couple of the wives, it ended up being accepted by the SAR. I’m now working to prove this lineage further back for the Jamestowne Society.
.
SAR, DAR, Jamestowne, Daughters of Texas, and more … they all have student assistance initiatives, but usually as a reward for outstanding scholastics, writing, art, patriotic acts, ect. I don’t know of any programs with scholarships on simple request. A good start would be to contact your local SAR or DAR chapter leader for details.
.
You can get no better advice or reference than from Larry Keith.
