Lynnea, Your Alexander KEITH sounds suspiciously like this report I received from Records of Carolyn Bemer Mead, and the entry in J. Montgomery Seaver’s family #224: Alexander KEITH (b. 1746, Scotland) immigrated about 1779 to Pennsylvania, and is believed to be brother of Daniel Keith of Pendleton District, SC and TN; moved to North Carolina, where he served four years in Revolutionary War under Capt. Morgan Alexander, Col. Alexander Spotswood; removed in 1800 to KY, and then to TN; m. 2 times, 2nd wife being Phebe. Applied for soldier’s pension 28 May 1819, which paper mentions following children: 1. John. 2. Polly (b. 1795). 3. Nancy (b. 1799). 4. James (b. 1801). 5. Susannah (b. 1805). 6. Alexander m. Sarah GALEY; lived in NC, then KY, then near Gainsboro, Jackson Co., TN. Had a son: Daniel [This Daniel appears in Seaver’s family #224, with this notation: “There is some speculation concerning what became of this Daniel Keith. However, it seems likely that he is the Daniel who m. (1st) Sarah Lee and (2nd) Mrs. Boyd, a widow.” [Carolyn Mead, adds to this list of Alexander’s children: Esther, and Daniel.] Note: Data entered by Seaver, in his book, concerning descendants of the last mentioned Daniel KEITH, was apparently attributed to the wrong Daniel (See Daniel Keith of SC and TN). Alexander (b. ca 1746), Daniel (b. ca 1739), and Andrew (b. ca 1745), two of them or all three, were probably brothers whose children continued to communicate into the mid-1800s. The three given names appear in many of the families living, in close proximity, in TN and KY. Notify Administrator about this message?
