Dear All,
I recently have unravelled a few more details about my stalemate 'Keith' individual in my family tree and was hoping for some guidance.
My William H. (Harry) Keith was born ca 1850. The location is likely to be Missouri, though county or town is unknown, and in one year's census he indicated his place of birth was Ill. I believe he did refer to his father's birthplace as VA and his mother's birthplace Illinois, though one year he did indicate VA. His parents names are unknown.
William was a travelling insurance salesman and did a spot selling real estate. He married Margaret (Maggie) C. (Cunningham) Millen d/o Mary R. and Robert Millen. He and Margaret settled in Peoria Illinois and had the following children:
1) Harry Whitworth Keith b. abt 1878
2) William Thomas Keith
3) Ida Mae Keith
4) Lilias (Lily) Keith b. 1880
5) Elizabeth (Bess) Keith
I am very interested in finding William Harry's family. From family correspondence to my grandfather, it was believed that his parents died (in some disaster or natural illness) whilst he was young and he was raised by relatives. The relatives did not have the surname Keith (according to personal correspondence from a great aunt), but it was rumoured that he was brought up in the family of his father's sister.
Help! This is all the information I have. I have information on the Millen side of the family as well, if there is anyone researching the same names.
