Dear Joyce
Charles Edward Dixon Keillor was born circa 1830, Nova Scotia, probably Amherst. He is a son of John Keillor and Nancy Haywood. He married circa 1851 Ontario to Helen E.R. Angus (b. 18334 Aberdeen Scotland)Helen (Ellen) died March 10 1871 Guelph Ont. and is buried Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph. Charels remarried November 4, 1870 to Mary Anne Thorne in Guelph.Charles homesteaded with his son Alexander in Durban (Marquette) Manitoba in 1898. He died Nov. 17, 1907 and is buried on Harvey's Farm in Durban. This cemetery was the first cemetery of the area, land donated by William Thomas also a farmer of this area and father-in-law to Alexander Keillor.Manitoba vital stats does not have a will for him or his wife.Charles was a cabinet finisher, mechanic and farmer.
Charles had 6 children by Ellen. I believe that she had a 7th son Charles Edward who died Oct. 16, 1871. John Angus "Jack" (your other posting) was the 5th child. My grandfather Alexander Reid Keillor was the 6th child.
