Hello to the Keep Family.
I also have a set of H.V.Keep tokens (5,10,25,50)
I also was struggling to obtain info on the "elusive" sutler, H.V.Keep. I purchased these tokens years ago, knowing nothing about them until about a year and a half ago. I am a coin-medal-token exhibitor in mostly Michigan coin shows to educate the public and maybe make them join the hobby of coin collecting. Anyway I was asking and looking for any more info on Mr. Keep. I have learnd a great deal about sutlers. Only yesterday, I found out about this site and I thought I'll try my luck here.
The only thing I knew about him was that he was born in 1830. I learnd a little more from reading some of the messages posted here. Can anyone tell me please, when did Henry V. Keep become a sutler merchant and created his tokes? Where did he do his business? For how long?
Any wife, children? Any other info that might shed some more light on this matter will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all of you.
Dany Rothfeld

P.S. I've exhibited the Keep tokens four times in about a year span, and it won four consecutive first places in the tokens category.
