Elizabeth Elaine Beasley Keenum, 90, of New Albany, died July 2, 2006, at Union County Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Aug. 17, 1915, in Union County to the late Reginald E. and Florence Elizabeth Hale Beasley. She worked at Irwin B. Schwabe. She was an active member of Harmony Baptist Church, the Golden Ages Senior Citizens Group, of which she served as president and the Busy Bees Quilting Group.
Survivors include two daughters, Janie Sanford and her husband, Larry and Regina Merritt, all of New Albany; two sons, Collins Keenum and his wife, Debbie of Germantown, Tenn. and Jerry Keenum of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter-in-law, Beulah Keenum of Olive Branch; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Keenum; one son, Wayne Keenum; one sister, Evelyn Gadd; three brothers, Theodore, John and Jim Beasley.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at Harmony Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Daniel and Bro. Jodie Anderson officiating. Interment was in Union Hill Cemetery. United Funeral Service handled arrangements.
Pallbearers include Bobby Keenum, Scott Keenum, Shane Sanford, Brandon Brevard, Jerry Lee Keenum, Danny Surwic, Tony Gaines and Alan Abreu.
Visitation was from 5 until 8 p.m., Monday, July 3, 2006, and from 1 until 2 p.m. at church on Tuesday, July 4.
