Not directly of Keeneys, though the "Keeney Connection" (the title, if I remember correctly, of an informative periodical from the late twentieth century) and Bill Korroch's works may contain some.However, upstate New York received large numbers of New Englanders during the early Federal period (ca. 1790-ca. 1820); and the name "Alexander" during that time, though commoner than during the colonial period, remained unusual.So, yes, it would seem likely that your descent, too, is from the mid-seventeenth-century immigrant.
