Little is impossible in an uncertain lineage!But, for reasons given above and detailled in the as-yet unpublished monograph, I sincerely doubt any Irish ancestry (well, any more recent than the Irish invasion of present-day Scotland, more than a thousand years ago) and think a Scottish origin the most probable.
