Roscoe, can you please help??
I have tried emailing Roscoe Keeney, who seems to be the leading authority on Keeneys.I am looking for information on a Lizzie Keeney. Her marriage record says that she was married to Luther Lafayette Brock in 1890.Also the person that married them refers to her as Lizzie Keatch on the marriage record. On her daughter, Tina Brock's, death record, Tina's mother's name is listed as Mary Kinney. On the 1900 census record of Ellis County Texas,Lizzie/Mary is age 26 and her mother is from Mississippi, but I can't read where her father is from.Linda Spindor, on the internet has emailed me some pictures of the "Keeney sisters". One of them looks just like me, and I assume since her James Fate Keeney was in the area at the same time as my Lizzie Keeney that they may be related.Perhaps they are brother and sister.
Also, my grandmother, Tina Brock moved to Lena, Oklahoma, so I searched around there for some Keeney clues. There is an Everett Van Keeney who is buried in Checotah, McIntosh County, Oklahoma. Also his father, but I can't recall the first name is buried there and is listed as being from Conneticut. Also, on the 1920 Eufaula, McIntosh County, Oklahoma census there is a William J. Keeney age 54, born in Texas with both parents being born in Texas, he is listed with a son, Ernest age 15.Can anyone help? Can anyone tell me if the postal address that I found at this website for Roscoe is correct? It is listed as P.O. Box 5519, Charleston, W.V. 25361.Thanks for any clues that you can offer.
Also, someone gave Linda Spindor a clue about a George Keeney/Sarah Forgay connection.Does this ring any bells at all?Thank you.
