I have been able to determine that Clarinda's mother, Nancy, was neither a Keene nor Lewis but was actually Nancy H Ridgeway born 1822 in Pee Wee Township, Pike county, Ohio. She is next seen in Sparland, Marshall County, Illinois where she is recorded marrying Washington Lewis on April 1, 1844.She is then seen with her husband in eastern Iowa and dies in 1900 in Missouri Valley, Iowa on the Missouri River. Her grave is currently under about 8 feet of water in the great flood of 2011.Sense the court documents in Marshall County say she is a Ridgeway and married to Washington Lewis. The census taker had to be either lazy, or intentionally wrong in reporting that Nancy and her children were of the Keene line.
Her father was John Ridgeway who fought in the Blackhawk war and owned a quarter section Southeast of Sparland in Marshall County, Illinois. Her Grandfather and Great Grandfather fought in the Revolution.
