Hello:
I am not directly related to the Rhode Island Keenan's that I know of, but wanted to find out where in UK your family is from.
My ggg grandparents; Felix and Sarah (McQuoid) Keenan; b. 1814/1809;IRL immigrated to the Dearham, Cumberland, ENG area about 1845. Their son, John Keenan was baptized in Kircubbin, Co.Down and I have been searching their roots in the Ards Peninsula of Co.Down for many years with little success.
John Keenan; b. 1835 went on to settle in Cockermouth, Cumberland, ENG and I still have Keenan cousins in cumbria.
Coincidentally, my grandfather, Thomas Berry Keenan; b. 1893; Williamsport, PA married a Florence Wright from Macedon, NY near Rochester, NY, USA. My line of Keenan's is from the greater Rochester, NY area of Western NY.
