Keeling Family in Caroline Co., VA in 1752
I found the following entries from the transcribed Caroline Co., VA records:
Page 328: Keeling’s executors agt. Thoms. Wood.Trespass on the case.Jury, Oliver Towles &c, find for the plaintiff 5.12.2 pounds current money damage.Oliver Towles, foreman.Page 329:{10 July 1752} It’s ordered Keeling’s executors pay George Keeling 175 pounds of tobacco for seven days’ attendance as an evidence for them against Wood.Source:“Caroline County, Virginia Order Book 1746-1752 – Part Three 1750-1752,”Abstracted and compiled by John Frederick Dorman.Washington, D.C., 1970.
I think the George Keeling mentioned is the same person who married Agnes Bullock (daughter of Richard Bullock), and then later died in Granville Co., NC in 1759.Does anyone know who the deceased Keeling would be?I suspect it may be one of the sons of Capt. George Keeling who supposedly married Ursula Fleming. Can anyone help?
The reason for my inquiry is that I'm looking for the parents of Mary "Molly" Keeling who married Terry Bradley possibly around 1750.Terry Bradley was involved in a dispute with the Bullocks as evidenced by the following:
Suit on attachment. Richd. Bullock and Company agt. The estate of Terry Bradley….(10 July 1752) this judgement (except to cost and 4.3.10) to be discharged on Stephen Terry paying 26.15.10 ½ current money with interest from 1 Nov. 1751. From “Caroline County, Virginia Order Book 1746-1754 Part Three 1750-1752” Abstracted and compiled by John Frederick Dorman (1970)
Thanks so much!
