Steve, this information from the last edition of the Keeler book is an error given to me by my father-in-law.I wrote a query to Mr. Wesley Keeler stating that my father-in-law had told me that, and that he reportedly got it from the South Herotown clerk, and I was looking for corroboration.Mr. Keeler sent me copies of a bible record of Philip Keeler and told me that because of that record, it ewas unlikely.Unfortunately, the information was then printed in the book.I subsequently went to South Hero, VT, Ridgefield, CT, and also did some Census research, and found that it was not true.Seth was the son of Ira, who died from a sickness he acquired while in the union Army during the Civil War (I obtained his widow's pension application).Ira was the son of Rufus.Seth's widow Caroline Olmstead then went to South Hero to live with her sister, Sarah, who had married Albert Burr Keeler.
