I'm also working on this line. My ancestor probably was the John Keeland who married Emaline Williams.Don't have very much on the Keeland line. John and Emaline married in Barry Co., MO Oct 17, 1841.John and Emaline disappear after the 1850 census, their children were living with their grandparents Green Williams and Sarah Queen in 1860.

John Keeland is said to have left Carroll Co. for the 1849 Goldrush, promising to return soon. He failed to do this and when he did return, he found his wife had remarried, perhaps an Isaac Hobbs.John then returned to California and is said to have died there after 1865.

I have no confirmation for this story. But it would be a plausible explanation.

Emaline seems to have died in Carroll Co. in 1899. An Emaline Hobbs was buried in High Cem., Carroll Co.

This is about all I know ontis line. Would be glad to get in touch with others researching this line.
