I am searching for the parental families of Michael and Mary Ann Keefe. Michael was born in Ireland 1847 and died in Elk County, Kansas in 1926. Mary (maiden name not known) was born in Wisconsin in 1852 and died in Elk County, Kansas in 1922. Michael and Mary Ann Keefe were parents to:
William E. Keefe (1867-1937), born in Wisconsin, died in Elk County, Kansas.
Alexander J. Keefe (1868-1894), born in Wisconsin, died in Elk County, Kansas.
Francis H. Keefe (1874-1894), born in Wisconsin, died in Elk County, Kansas.
Edward Keefe, born 1879 and died 1879, born and died in Kansas.
Alice Keefe, born 1881 in Elk County, Kansas died 1978 in Elk County, Kansas.
William E. Keefe married a Willard Unknown and they homesteaded in Elk Falls, Elk County, Kansas.
They had at least one child, named Ruth. Their estate, known today as the William E. Keefe Estate, operates tours of the William E. Keefe Homestead.
Alice Keefe married Francis Nicholas Kill and they were parents to a large family: Frank, Teresa, Frederick, Mary, William, Valda, Gertrude, and Alice. Of these, Alice (born 1916) is still alive. She married William Bain Sellers. All of the other children are deceased.
Additionally, in the 1880 census of Elk Falls, Elk County, Kansas there is a William Keefe, born 1801 in Ireland, listed. I suspect that this is Michael's father or grandfather. But I can't prove it. I have discovered William E. Keefe and wife Willard Keefe's graves in the Elk Falls, Kansas cemetery. The graves of Michael and Mary Ann Keefe, and their sons Alexander, Francis, and Edward are in the Mount Olivet Cemetery (Roman Catholic) at Moline, Elk County, Kansas.
