Howard,

John M. Key (Kee) married Margaret Jones in Wayne Co., KY on Aug. 17, 1830.

I believe the family name was actually McKee. Furthermore, I believe our John Key (McKee) was the son of Hugh Ware McKee and his wife (2) Elizabeth (Betsy) Davis, married March 9, 1807 in Wayne Co., KY.

The McKee clan is extensive and well documented.

(The 1870 MO census, Taney Co., Beaver Twp., contains the entry of John Kee, but it actually appears to be "McKee").
