If you haven't been to Scots Origin (http://origins.net), I highly recommend it. The searches are fee based but if you want the information quick and direct, its pretty cool. I came across ALEXANDER KEDDIE a couple of times yesterday in my searches and something that I learned about one of my Keddie relatives is that his middle name was his grandmother's maiden name. So.... I would suggest looking for a marriage between a Keddie and a Morrison and see if that fits downstream one or two generations.
Now.... for my plug.... I'm looking for John Melvel/Melville Keddie. Can't find him in Scotland after 1881 - not even in the death records. Can't seem to find him here in the USA (but better census indexes yet to come may help) but I'm also aware that a lot of Keddies wound up in Australia, NSW, and Canada. If you can help, or know a possible connection, let me know.
John was a cabinet maker in 1881 - was born 1846(?) in County Fife.
