Gary - Possibility, of course.I've never done any detailed work on the Butcher line, but I suppose Barnabus' (Barney's) brothers would be logical candidates for such a possibility.I have (unverified) Jacob, John B., and David as Barney's brothers, with (again unverified) Jacob marr. to an Anna and John B. marr. to Nancy Hawk (4 children).(I have (again unverified) Johann Valentine Butcher (Metzger) b. 7 Dec 1731 in the Pfalzer-Wald and d. before 19 Feb 1799 possibly in Hawkins Co., TN as their father.)Since Frederick Moser and family migrated to NC in about 1762,Mary would of course have been in the right region to also have connected with the Butcher family just like her sister Magdalena apparently must have.Of course, there are other circumstances than just the will to support that Mary married a Keck - for example, Mary's mother (Maria Barbara Lieser) was a sister to Ann Lieser, wife of Johannes Keck, so it would have been quite natural for the Moser's to know the Keck's that migrated to NC (including Conrad, of course). On and on this goes.Do you have any information re Barney's brothers which would lend support to your idea?Hilary
