My Great-Grandmother was Nora Mae(May)Keatts Eanes of Pittsylvania Co,Va. She was married to Archer Thomas Eanes who died in March/1979. Nora died (I believe)in 1957, I'll have to check my paperwork, she is buried on my grandparents farm off of Whispering Pines Rd in the Brosville Community. We just buried my Grandfather Stuart Edward Eanes,Sr there in April/2001. At this time my Grandmother Elmittie Eanes still owns the property but does have plans to sell it off.Archer and Nora are buried there as is one of the children who died as an infant, JD Eanes,1929;as is my uncle who died as an infant Bobby Ray Eanes. My family told me Nora's parents were A.B. Keatts and Gussie(Augusta) Barrow possibly. My grandmother once had in her possession a picture dated frm late 1920's to early 1930's that listed several children from the family on the back, Keatts/Eanes/Broomfield(Brumfield?)/Moorefield.She also had a very old photograph of a male Keatts relative, possibly David,John or Richard ( it's been so long ago I can't remember which). Unfortunately at this point she doesn't acknowledge knowing where the items are, which I'm not too entirely supprised about. There have been some strained relations in the family involving her and some of my other relatives in the past and she has been sort of secretive about the family in the past. Right now there is a disagreement over the farm where the family is buried, having something to due with it originally belonging to poss Nora's family and one of my uncles wishing to keep the farm in the family instead of selling out. I also believe that one of Nora's daughter's is Thelma Augusta Eanes Bray and I belive that some of her family are buried on the same farm in a separate lot. I believe I noticed some old obituary info connected to the Martinsville/Henry Co area that lists a Barrow relative having a connection to a Mrs Alva or Alvie Keatts in the Axton area,I saw it in connection to Henry CO Genweb site, poss in ref to old newspapers in the area.I also believe that tere may be more than one Eanes/Keatts connections. I believe that one of Archer Eanes' sisters married a Keatts possibly.
