Thomas Keates (Cates)

Looking for the parents of Thomas Keates b. 1758 d. 1848. Thomas fought in the American Revolution and was in the 4th Maryland Line. This regiment was made up of men from Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

Thomas married Martha (Patty) Trice in North Carolina in 1784. She was the daughter of Dr. John Trice of Orange County, N.C.

It seems the name changed to Cates in North Carolina or after they reached Georgia. They were in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama by December 23, 1818.

Any help with Thomas's parents would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
